The American Joint Committee on Cancer (AJCC) provides worldwide leadership in the development, promotion and maintenance of evidence-based systems for the classification and management of cancer in collaboration with multidisciplinary organizations dedicated to cancer surveillance and to improving care.
The American Joint Committee on Cancer (AJCC) provides individuals and member organizations the opportunity to join both the Executive and the Membership in order to work with other medical professionals to advance the mission of the AJCC.
The AJCC is committed to continuing and broadening its collaboration with the leading experts across all research disciplines and invites members to volunteer for one of the standing committees.

The AJCC Executive Committee is the decision-making body of the organization and sets the strategic direction. The Committee is comprised of representatives from our Sponsoring Member Organizations and Standing Committee Chairs. With varied backgrounds, each individual adds a unique, multidisciplinary perspective to the organization, while sharing a common commitment to produce validated systems for the classification and management of cancer, including state-of-the-science prognostic tools and resources.

Current Editorial Committee Members
The AJCC Editorial Committee oversees the content development across all anatomical sites for the AJCC Cancer Staging System. Comprised of multidisciplinary specialists in cancer clinical and research subjects such as surgery, medical oncology, pathology, radiology, cancer registries, the Editorial Committee ensures that evidence-based and precision medical standards are used for the development of staging information that supports data collection and clinical use. The Editorial Committee aligns closely with the Implementation Committee to ensure that the Editorial Content is correct, clear, and prepared for online product release.

The Education and Promotions Committee is responsible for developing short- and long-term strategies for promoting the AJCC TNM staging system through related products, educational and scientific presentations, journal articles and other initiatives to increase use of the staging system by all constituents.
