Biography

Dedicated Physician Executive and Thoracic Surgeon. Dr. Tetteh is a heart and lung transplant surgeon, best-selling author, and popular speaker. Certified by the American Board of Surgery, the American Board of Thoracic Surgery, and the American Board of Preventative Medicine in Clinical Informatics. He is a creative problem solver with a global perspective in medicine, administration, public policy, and entrepreneurship. He is an expert in heart health, heart and lung transplantation, informatics, AI, and compassionate health care delivery. His specialties include: • Cardiovascular Disease Specialist • Medical Services Management • Public Policy and Administration • Clinical Informatics | Artificial Intelligence • Health Information Technology Systems • Physician and Medical Professional Education He was named an Emerging Leader in Health and Medicine Scholar by the National Academy of Medicine (NAM), was elected to Alpha Omega Alpha (AOA) Medical Honor Society, and served as the Chief Medical Informatics Officer (CMIO) for the United States Navy and Warfighter Health Mission Chief for the Joint Artificial Intelligence Center (JAIC) for the Department of Defense. Dr. Tetteh is a Thoracic Surgeon for Inova Health and Howard University Hospital. He founded and previously led a Specialized Thoracic Adaptive Recovery (STAR) Team in Washington, DC. His research in transplantation aims to expand organ recovery and save lives. Dr. Tetteh’s expertise extends well beyond the operating room. He received his MPA from Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government, an MBA from Johns Hopkins University Carey Business School, and an MS in National Security Strategy with a concentration in Artificial Intelligence from the National War College. A native of Brooklyn, New York, Tetteh is a bestselling author of several books. He has finished twenty-five marathons on two continents, completed an Ironman 70.3, and delivered the popular TEDx talk, From Death to Life, based on his work in transplant surgery.
