Biography

Dr. Lorie Fleck is an Associate Professor and Program Director in the Department of Urology at the University of South Alabama in Mobile, Alabama. She received her BS in Microbiology from the University of Georgia in Athens, Georgia and medical degree from the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta, Georgia. She completed her urology residency at the Medical College Georgia in 1995 as the first woman to complete an urology residency at this institution. She was certified by the American Board of Urology in 1997 and 2006 and achieved subspecialty certification in Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery in 2014 and 2023. She was in private practice in Mobile, Alabama from 1995 to 2018 and then transitioned to the University of South Alabama from 2018 to the present time. Her practice focus is on female and male voiding dysfunction and incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse and reconstructive surgery for fistulas and trauma. She has been involved with the Southeastern Section of the AUA in health policy as the chairman of the health policy committee and currently serves as President of the Southeastern Section of the AUA. She is a board member as well as the health policy liaison for the Alabama Urology Network. She is involved with the AUA as the specialty society representative to the American College of Surgeons and the AUA state advocacy committee. She was selected as the 2021, 2023 and 2024 local best urologist with Lagniappe Magazine. She is involved in the American Association of Clinical Urologists as secretary treasurer. She will be a Trustee of the American Board of Urology starting 2025.
