Biography

As Anacapa Surgical Associates Medical Co-Director, we strive to improve the quality of care of the surgical patient in Ventura County. Our aim is to see referrals in a timely/reasonable fashion, and act accordingly on the health problem(s) a patient is dealing with. We strive to educate our patients, as we feel that it is important to be knowledgable of the medical problem(s) one is faced with. Our clinical and ancillary staff have the ultimate goal of our patients wellbeing. We hold a weekly Tumor Board conference, discussing challenging cancer cases in a multidisciplinary/evidence-based fashion, while a separate Breast conference is held bi-weekly (also in a multidisciplinary fashion), for the newly diagnosed or challenging breast cancer cases. As Trauma Medical Director, our goal is to reinforce the standard principles and practices of the Committee on Trauma at our adult level II trauma center. We offer Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) courses twice (or more) per year. We participate in local and national conferences, presenting our data, and keeping up-to-date with new developments. We are staunch believers in prevention, hence development of a county-wide Elderly Fall Prevention Coalition, and Violence Intervention Program. My practice also encompasses minimally invasive robotic Surgery - hernia, breast surgery, other routine General Surgery procedures, as well as Trauma.
