The Vascular Surgery Division of the Spectrum Health Medical Group comprises 8 Board Certified Vascular Surgeons. The scope of practice encompasses all areas of vascular and endovascular surgery, including the treatment of abdominal and thoracic aneurysms, carotid disease and peripheral vascular occlusive disease. Advanced Endovascular Procedures, such carotid stenting, abdominal aneurysm endografts, thoracic aneurysm endografts and lower extremity angioplasty and atherectomy are being performed. A dedicated Vein Clinic is available to treat lower extremity varicose veins with endovenous techniques, laser and radiofrequency ablation, as well as sclerotherapy. The practice has outreach clinics in many locations in Western Michigan. A vascular surgery fellowship and residency have been established since 2003. I am the Surgeon Champion for our hospital in the National Surgical Quality Insurance Program and the Michigan Surgical Quality Collaborative.
