Don’t Miss Cancer Programs Sessions at Clinical Congress 2023

Compared to surgery for benign indications, major surgery for abdominopelvic cancer has a three-fold increased risk of venous thromboembolism (VTE) with up to one third of postoperative VTE occurring after hospital discharge. On Wednesday, October 25 at the ACS Clinical Congress 2023 in Boston, MA, presenters at PS327: Current Guidelines and Obstacles for Extended Venous Thromboembolism Prophylaxis after Major Cancer Surgery will examine the evidence for extended VTE prophylaxis, current guidelines, and guideline adherence, as well as explore future directions to improve guideline concordant care.
