Mild TBI May Have Longer-Term Consequences on Cognitive Impairment

Brain injury guidelines suggest that patients with mild traumatic brain injury (mTBI) can be safely discharged from the emergency department, but a recent study from the Journal of the American College of Surgeons found that a noteworthy number of patients with mTBI and intercranial hemorrhage had persistent early cognitive impairment postdischarge.
