Clinical Risk Prediction Score Helps ID Patients Who May Develop LVAD-VSI

One-third of patients who undergo primary left ventricular assist device implantation develop LVAD-specific infection (VSI). A study in the September issue of the Journal of the American College of Surgeons (JACS) describes a clinical risk prediction score to help stratify patients most likely to get VSI.
