May 6, 2025

ACS Health Outreach Program for Equity in Global Surgery (ACS H.O.P.E.) is accepting applications for the ACS H.O.P.E. Resident Scholarship Award for the upcoming Clinical Congress 2025 in Chicago, Illinois.

This scholarship will further the professional growth of 10 surgical residents with a keen interest in global health by providing them with an opportunity to attend the specialized Didactic Course, "Global Health Competencies for Surgeons: Key Concepts, Evidence, and Practical Approaches for Responsible and Effective Engagement."

The scholarship, valued at $1,000 per recipient, will cover the registration fee for the course and assist with the travel expenses incurred by the attendees.

Eligibility for this scholarship is restricted to ACS Resident Members who demonstrate a profound interest in global health. Applicants are required to submit the following documentation for consideration:

  • A letter of recommendation from the applicant's program director, endorsing the candidate's suitability and commitment to global health
  • A current CV or resume detailing the applicant’s academic and professional accomplishment
  • A personal statement expressing the applicant's interest in global health and articulating how participation in the Didactic Course will contribute to their professional development and career objectives

Interested candidates should submit their application by June 2, 2025.
