The data submission period for the 2024 performance year of the Merit-Based Incentive Payment System (MIPS) is closing soon. Surgeons must submit their data by 8:00 pm ET on April 14, 2025.

To do so, clinicians should:

Surgeons whose 2024 data was reported by a third party should follow the same steps to review the submission for accuracy. Errors cannot be corrected after the submission period closes, so it is important to ensure the data submitted is accurate.

Surgeons should note that the MIPS Extreme and Uncontrollable Circumstances (EUC) policy has been automatically applied to all clinicians impacted by the California wildfires. Surgeons in these areas will have all four MIPS categories (Quality, Cost, Promoting Interoperability, and Improvement Activities) reweighted to 0%, unless they choose to submit data on 2 or more performance categories, in which case they will be scored on those performance categories and receive a payment adjustment based on their final MIPS score.

For more information, surgeons can visit the QPP Resource Library or contact QualityDC@facs.org.
