The Clinical Congress Session Showcases aim to highlight select Panel Sessions presented at Clinical Congress 2024, using the original session as a base and building on it with fresh perspective from panelists.

On Thursday, February 20, from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm CT, a live webinar will take place based on the popular Appendicitis: What’s Old, What’s New? session.

This session provides surgeons with an update on the ever-evolving treatment of appendicitis, which has changed dramatically over the past decade. Appendectomy historically has been the gold standard treatment of appendicitis, but the nonsurgical approach of acute appendicitis with antibiotics has recently become part of our treatment options.

How are the clinical outcomes and results of antibiotics therapy holding up as observations now extend to more years than previously reported? Is there any reversion to appendectomy? What is the current best therapy for uncomplicated and complicated appendicitis? What does the future hold? This session will cover advances and changes in modern management.

During the live webinar, each speaker will highlight the key educational content covered at Clinical Congress and reinforce important points from their presentations. After the live webinar, the recording will be available on demand on the course site.
