The ACS recently launched a revised, more visually focused course to expand the reach of its Stop the Bleed program.

Notable updates include slides with more images and less text, a format that can be easily adapted and updated to be most relevant for the community in which it is being taught. It also includes a greater emphasis on the anatomy of blood flow to enhance civilian understanding of how interventions can stop bleeding.

Coinciding with the new course, the ACS updated the Stop the Bleed instructor portal.

New features of the portal include:

  • Ability to use multiple emails for instructor accounts
  • Opt-ins for sharing contact info for course requests
  • Instructor notifications included in the dashboard
  • Ability to designate proxy for course management
  • Ability to create recurring courses without re-entering course information
  • An improved course search on the Find a Course link

Instructors need simply to log into the new portal with an existing username and password. Once logged in, instructors can validate their email and reset their password, if desired.

Now in its 9th year, the ACS Stop the Bleed program has prepared 4.8 million individuals to save a life during a bleeding emergency.
