Mentees Invited to Participate in Speed Mentoring Session at Clinical Congress

On behalf of the American College of Surgeons Young Fellows Association, we invite you to submit your application for the Annual ACS Speed Mentoring Event to take place at the Clinical Congress 2024 in San Francisco, CA.

Who is eligible?

We invite residents and associate fellow surgeons to apply as mentees to participate in this event.

When is the event?

The session will be organized as a quick–paced event at the Mascone Convention Center on Monday, October 21, 2024, from 4:30–5:30 pm.

What happens during the event?

During the session, each mentee will meet with up to five mentors, talking to each for 10 minutes. After the session, we hope you will have met with one or two mentors with whom you can develop a long-term mentoring relationship.

Applications are due on Friday, August 30, 2024.

Apply to be a Mentee

Within the application is a request to select five topic pairs for which you seek mentoring advice.  Mentee/mentor pairs will be matched based on these areas of interest, as well as an attempt to have each mentee meet with a blend of junior and senior fellow members of the College with various experiences and training.

Participation requirements

Participation in the program requires attending the one-hour event at Clinical Congress and filling out a post-event questionnaire.

Important dates

Applications are due Friday, August 30, 2024. Mentees will be selected in the order in which they are received. This mentorship program will accept a maximum of 100 mentees. Selected participants will be notified in late September.

Don't hesitate to contact us at youngfellows@facs.org with any questions. We hope to see you there!
