On Poverty, Justice, and Surgery

Healthcare inequities exist between the global North and South, impacting the care that surgical patients receive and highlighting the human and economic consequences of untreated surgical conditions. Dr. Moustafa Moustafa, a Chief Surgical Resident at the University of Virginia, will discuss global disparities in surgical care, the ethical considerations for surgeons, and suggestions on how to make an impact globally.
