ACS Surgical Ergonomics On-Site Training at UT MD Anderson

David Santos, MD, MS, FACS, associate professor of surgery, department of surgical oncology, division of surgery, UT MD Anderson Cancer Center

The ACS Division of Education hosted its first ACS Surgical Ergonomics Onsite Training at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center on September 21 and 22, 2024. This two-full-day educational program began with a three-hour didactic session by four experienced surgical ergonomics faculty, covering the fundamental knowledge in surgical ergonomics. A series of one-hour hands-on sessions are offered for one and a half days. Through a pre-registration process, surgeons attended one of the ten hands-on sessions. Working with the ACS Division of Education, the CME office offered CME credits for both the didactic and hands-on sessions.
