For over 10 years, the ACS Mastery in General Surgery Program has worked with graduating surgical residents to enter the field of general surgery by offering advanced training and mentorship. This 1-year program allows new resident graduates to gain independent experience and learn from knowledgeable surgeons in dynamic practice environments.
Participating as a program site helps address the general surgeon shortage in the United States. Sites have also found that these associates enhance practice efficiency as they take on responsibilities and increase overall productivity. Over the course of a year of training, many sites have found that the associates fit perfectly as new hires to their practice.
For a site to host an ACS Mastery in General Surgery Program site, they must follow the program’s Accreditation Standards and pay applicable fees.
Interested sites can apply by contacting us for an application. Applications are accepted and reviewed throughout the year.
