Opening Ceremony, State of the ACS, Martin Memorial Lecture

The Opening Ceremony starts with the unveiling of the incoming ACS President’s theme for the year. The President presides and introduces the Honorary Fellows, Past-Presidents, College Officers and Regents, special invited guests from national and international healthcare organizations, the Resident Research Scholars, and the International Guest Scholars. An annual overview of the College will be reported by Executive Director and CEO Patricia L. Turner, MD, MBA, FACS, followed by the Martin Memorial Lecture, “Should a Museum Trip Count as CME?” from David J. Skorton, MD, president and CEO of the
Association of American Medical Colleges.
