Start Preparing for Life After Residency

We are inviting all US-based residents from accredited residency training programs to attend this special 2-day program focused on preparing for a career in surgery. This program is offered by the ACS Division of Education, ACS Division of Member Services, and the Resident and Associate Society (RAS), under the leadership of Program Chair Leigh A. Neumayer, MD, MS, FACS, MAMSE.

Featured presentations will address the multitude of challenges faced by surgeons and trainees. Program attendees will have opportunities to network with residents from across the country, meet American College of Surgeons leaders, and get competitive with the surgical skills competition.

Featured presentations will include:

  • Physician contract negotiations for your successful career and peace of mind
  • A roundtable discussion centered on key non-clinical skills needed by senior residents as they transition from residency to independent practice
  • How to effectively lead and teach in the OR and giving feedback
