Convocation

Saturday, October 4 | 5:45–7:00 pm | McCormick Place

Procession begins at 5:45 pm

The Convocation Ceremony confers Fellowship upon surgeons who have successfully met requirements that reflect their education and training and commit to the ACS oath “To Heal All with Skill and Trust.” The ceremony also includes recognition of the Honorary Fellows, presentation of the Distinguished Service Award, installation of the ACS Officers, and the Presidential Address by Anton N. Sidawy, MD, MPH, FACS.

All Initiates must register for Clinical Congress if planning to participate in the Convocation Ceremony. ACS welcomes family members of Initiates to attend the Convocation Ceremony and share in this celebration; their advance registration is not required.

Guests should be in their seats by 5:30 pm. The processional of dignitaries and Initiates begins at 5:45 pm, and the ceremony starts at 6:00 pm.
